June meeting

We have been a bit deprived of meetings in the last few months.  Our April greenhouse visit to Afri Orchids was rained out and in March and May we had shows at Halls and in the Riverside Mall.  June, however, will see us return to the Educational Centre in the Botanical Gardens for our monthly meeting.  Our guest speaker will be Angela Van Rooyen and she is inviting everybody to come and share in the 'Joy of Orchids' - Kom deel in die wonder van Orgideë.  She is such a charismatic speaker and will certainly deliver on the promise of joy and enjoyment of these wonderful plants.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 23 June and tea and eats will be served from 18h00 and the meeting will start at 18h30.  Do join us for a cuppa and a bite to eat beforehand to beat the winter chill and to strengthen orchid friendships.

Also remember to bring plants for the plant table.  Fewer and fewer members have contributed to the plant table in recent months, a trend we would like to see reversed.  We would like to see plant tables bursting at the seems and proud members showing off their new flowering seedlings or huge specimen gems.

The winners of the February plant table (and the clay pots) were:

  Cyrtorchis arcuata (Barret's)
