August Meeting and a reminder about the show

It seems that the persistent old winter is finally making way for spring.  We are all hoping I think as both people and plants have suffered a bit more this winter than normal.

Luckily the orchids are bouncing back and there's an abundance of orchid flowers opening in the greenhouses and gardens everywhere.  We therefor thought it a good idea to just look at beautiful flowers at the meeting, in the form of a plant table discussion.  Remember, that the plant table is open to anybody.  Please bring your plants and we'll all ooh-and-aah over them together. And who knows, you may just be rewarded for your efforts as the owners of both the best species and hybrid of the evening take home a beautiful clay pot.

Please take note that the meeting will take place at Lourens and Jolisa's house in Alkmaar and not in the Botanical Gardens.  Tea and eats will be served from 18h00 onwards; you can even go a bit earlier and stroll through the gardens if you like.  The meeting starts at 18h30.

If you would like a lift from town, please contact Nitsi on 084 414 7710.

We hope to see you all there!

Remember to start grooming your plants for the Spring Show at Halls (9 - 11 September).  Wouldn't it be nice if we can have a huge display filled with orchids of all the members.
